Echo Student Ambassadors:
Their Mission
Following six months of study in Charlotte using the Echo curriculum, UKRAINE: Calculus for Democracy, Echo Student Ambassadors traveled to Europe to locations impacted by Russia’s war on Ukraine such as Eastern Poland, Berlin (German Marshall Fund), The Hague (International Criminal Court), Brussels (NATO Headquarters), (the European Union) and more. As part of their initiative, Echo Student Ambassadors gained insight into the historical context of this war through intensive study, engaged with world leaders working to push back against the atrocities occurring, and participated in a two-day conference with Ukrainian students from Lviv State University of Life Safety. With education and hands-on activities, Echo Student Ambassadors worked to deepen their understanding from an extraordinary view into the refugee phenomenon, the meaning of democracy, the challenges of justice, and the power of the individual to build a more just and humane global society. Based on the current state of affairs, Echo Student Ambassadors did not visit Ukraine, however The Echo Foundation President, Stephanie Ansaldo, visited Lviv in March 2022, a visit which is included in the Echo Student Ambassadors Chapter.
